Shaq segment on AEW Dynamite topped 1 million viewers
For the last two weeks, AEW Dynamite has been getting closer to averaging a million viewers over the course of the entire show.
The December 2nd show did 913,000 while this past Wednesday’s episode did 995,000. Both times, it scored its best rating in the 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter that the Tony Schiavone interview segment with Shaquille O’Neal and Brandi Rhodes on Wednesday’s show was a strong segment of the show as it did over 1.2 million viewers.
The segment saw Shaq try to smooth things over with Cody Rhodes and the feud between Brandi and Jade. It ended with Shaq telling Brandi that she could learn some things from Jade, which led to Brandi tossing a drink in the face of the NBA legend.
More detailed information on the ratings for this week’s show has come out. The quarter featuring Shaq averaged 1,063,000 viewers and 618,000 viewers in 18-49. The most-watched quarter of the show featured Sting, which did 1,069,000 total viewers and 645,000 viewers in the 18-49 demo.
Meltzer wrote on Twitter, “AEW’s high point on Wednesday was 1,220,000 viewers during the Shaq segment.”
