Latest on why Cameron Grimes underwent surgery
After WWE announced during Wednesday’s episode of NXT that Cameron Grimes would be missing in action until late January or early February, it was reported by PWinsider.com that he underwent surgery last week.
Thus, he has been put on the sidelines until he is medically cleared to return to in-ring action. At the time, there were no more details as to what led to the surgery.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the belief is it was for minor arthroscopic knee surgery.
Meltzer added, “there was not a specific injury point in a recent match, but his knee has been bothering him and the decision was made to get it taken care of now before it gets worse.”
Grimes worked his most recent match against Timothy Thatcher on the December 9th episode of NXT. Before that, he had taken part in a Strap Match with Dexter Lumis at the NXT TakeOver: WarGames special in Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center.
