Jacob Fatu, the MLW star and former heavyweight champion, recently sat down with MuscleManMalcolm for a detailed interview about his time with the company. During the interview, the Samoa Werewolf shared some valuable advice given to him by MJF when he was still a part of MLW. Fatu mentioned that MJF told him to stay true to himself and not conform to the traditional wild Samoan stereotype.

When I first started talking in MLW, they asked me to speak. If you know me, Jacob Fatu, I wasn’t much of a talker at all. MJF was backstage, and this was when I was cutting a promo for La Parka before our match at SuperFight. I’ll always remember this moment – he came in because we used to have these rooms downstairs at MLW where we cut promos. MJF walks in and says, ‘Hey Uce, just keep your energy. Be yourself. Don’t try to imitate the old Wild Samoan promo style. Just speak in your own voice, man.’ It was like, talk the way you talk. Keep that energy up. I’ll never forget that. He might not know this, but I want to give a shout out to MJF. He came in and said, ‘Man, you’re doing great.’ It meant a lot coming from someone who really knows his stuff. He could have easily criticized me and told me to stop talking, but MJF was always supportive. It wasn’t about his character; it was genuine love and support. I could feel the sincerity. Connecting with MJF was an amazing experience. He’s a good dude.

Fatu is gearing up for a major match at MLW Slaughterhouse where he will face off against Japanese legend Minor Suzuki in their first-ever encounter. Fans can find more information about this exciting match here.
