Bruce Prichard explains why Sabu started speaking when he was in WWE

Bruce Prichard answered questions from fans on the latest episode of “Something To Wrestle With.”

Bruce Prichard was asked about his time in MLW: “Going and working with MLW at the time was a lot of fun, frankly. I wasn’t sure what to expect. We were doing the podcast and Court Bauer was doing his MLW promotion and asked me if I would be interested in coming and helping some of the talent with promos and backstage, kind of help out with the TV production overall. I was like, ok, what can this be? But I adapted a little bit of a different attitude by that point. I think my initial reaction had you asked me 5 years before, I would have said, no, I don’t want to do that s**t. I changed my attitude to go try stuff, go see what the hell is out there. I went and got me a lot of really good talent coming up. But, play. It was an opportunity to go and play and have fun. So, I thought it was fun. It was a blast just to get out and do something different in the wrestling business.”

Bruce was asked what the thought process was of Sabu having to cut his own promos when he came to WWE after never talking in ECW: “If you go back and look at Kane, people thought we were crazy when we let Kane start talking. At some point, to communicate with your audience, they want to hear from you. They want to be able to connect with you in some way and that was a big part of trying to get Sabu to talk and to do his own promos. I think that Sabu was kind of comfortable where he was. You have to grow. You have to continue to evolve.”
