Upcoming AEW Dynamite episode to face scheduling conflict because of TNT’s NBA coverage
It’s looking like the December 23rd episode of AEW Dynamite will not air in its normal time slot on TNT.
The NBA regular season is starting that night and there will be a game airing at 7:30 p.m. on TNT while a second game will air at 10:30 p.m. on ESPN. Thus, Dynamite could be moved to a later time slot on that Wednesday or to another day.
Dynamite typically airs at 8 p.m. on TNT. This was something that Dave Meltzer talked about during today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“The show on the [December] 23rd because the NBA is starting, the 23rd edition of Dynamite is up in the air when the show will take place. At first, it looked like TNT was going to have a 7:30 and 10:30 game, which meant that they’re off, there’s no way, but now it looks like the 10:30 game will be on ESPN and the 7:30 game will be on TNT. Logically, you would think that means that AEW is going to air 10-midnight or 10:30 or 11:30. That is not official, that just looks logical. It could be moved to a new day, it’s just one day, whatever.”
Meltzer brought up that if AEW does air right after the first NBA game then there could be some new people watching Dynamite.
This also means that while NXT will have to go up against NBA competition, it won’t face AEW head-to-head that night.
