Warner Bros. Discovery is pleased with AEW’s recent TV ratings despite competition from NBA and NHL

AEW Dynamite, which aired on April 24th, pulled in 683,000 viewers and scored a 0.23 in the 18-49 demographic. This was a decrease from the previous week and marked the lowest viewership AEW had seen since 2021. However, there is no need for AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery to worry about these numbers.

According to PW Insider, Warner Bros. Discovery was actually pleased with AEW’s performance on April 24th, considering the tough competition from the NBA Playoffs and the NHL Playoffs. The fact that the NBA playoffs were also airing on TNT, which is a sister network, helped soften the blow. AEW Dynamite still managed to secure the #6 spot in the key demo for the night, with ESPN’s NHL coverage being the only program it trailed behind.

It is worth mentioning that AEW Dynamite aired at 5pm PST on the West Coast, instead of its usual 8pm time slot. Additionally, there were some technical hiccups during the broadcast on TBS, which were reportedly caused by issues on the TBS side rather than AEW’s.

Pwrestling Newss will continue to keep fans updated on the weekly viewership numbers for both WWE and AEW shows. Stay tuned for more updates!
