Two AEW stars signed new contracts in August
AEW has locked down The Lucha Bros to new deals.
Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix signed new contracts with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, according to Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone. This will keep them in AEW for at least through 2021.
Per the report, their deals expired on August 31st, but they were able to work out the terms for new deals with the promotion the same day. It was noted that it was never a situation where The Lucha Bros were in danger of leaving AEW and they were “never not under contract.”
They’ve been working for the promotion since Double or Nothing 2019 where they took on The Young Bucks in a ladder match. In addition to working for AEW, they’ve also continued to wrestle for Lucha Libre AAA.
They just defended the AAA Tag Team Championships at TripleMania XXVIII on December 12.
Penta is currently dealing with a calf injury while Fenix is slated to challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title on December 30th at AEW New Year’s Smash Night One.
