AEW CEO and President Tony Khan took to Twitter last night prior to the special episode of AEW Dynamite addressing the recent reports regarding a potential WWE and NJPW working relationship.
Tony Khan said he heard about WWE President Nick Khan being in discussions with New Japan Pro Wrestling about a possible working relationship. Tony Khan also said that Nick Khan had done a lot in the last two months, but then that in the last two weeks how NJPW stars Ren Narita, Rocky Romero, and Yuji Nagata have all appeared on AEW programming. Tony Khan said mentioned that he has future plans with NJPW and the IWGP United States Title, which is currently held by Jon Moxley.
Tony Khan closed by saying that there’s only room for one Khan in pro wrestling, and not some con-man from Connecticut.
It is being said that the deal, if came to fruition, top WWE talent would be sent to work in NJPW.
