Major League Baseball has announced that they have hired Brian Stedman who spent more than seven years as the Executive Vice President of Global Strategy for WWE.
According to the announcement, Stedman will serve as the Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development, a new position that reports to Chris Marinak, MLB Chief Operations & Strategy Officer.

Major League Baseball has hired Brian Stedman as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development, a new position that reports to Chris Marinak, MLB Chief Operations & Strategy Officer. Stedman will lead the newly created Strategy and Development department to collaborate with internal MLB departments, Clubs, and partners to create a strategic vision in important areas including media, ticketing, international, and marketing, among other disciplines.
Stedman joins MLB after spending more than seven years at World Wrestling Entertainment where, in his most recent role he served as EVP of Global Strategy. Stedman was a member of the company’s executive committee and oversaw WWE’s corporate strategy, internal consulting, data analytics, and corporate development functions. Prior to his role as head of Global Strategy, Stedman led the development of the Strategy and Operations function within the International division. In this capacity, he oversaw development of the company’s growth plans outside of the United States, including helping to introduce the WWE Network in over 180 countries.
“We will rely on Brian’s talent, experience, and global vision of the sports, entertainment, and media spaces as we develop our strategic initiatives for the next five to ten years,” said Marinak. “During a time of rapid change in how fans consume sports content, Brian is a great addition to the MLB team bringing a track record of success and an ability to collaborate with internal and external business leaders. We’re excited about our opportunities for growing the game in the future and we expect Brian to be an important part of that development.”
Prior to WWE, Stedman held roles in corporate strategy at CA Technologies and spent several years as an Engagement Manager in the Boston office of L.E.K. Consulting, where he advised clients across several industries on growth strategy and operations.
Stedman received his MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and is a graduate of Hamilton College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science.
