Major League Baseball has hired Brian Stedman as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development, a new position that reports to Chris Marinak, MLB Chief Operations & Strategy Officer. Stedman will lead the newly created Strategy and Development department to collaborate with internal MLB departments, Clubs, and partners to create a strategic vision in important areas including media, ticketing, international, and marketing, among other disciplines.

Stedman joins MLB after spending more than seven years at World Wrestling Entertainment where, in his most recent role he served as EVP of Global Strategy. In this capacity, he oversaw development of the company’s growth plans outside of the United States, including helping to introduce the WWE Network in over 180 countries.

“We will rely on Brian’s talent, experience, and global vision of the sports, entertainment, and media spaces as we develop our strategic initiatives for the next five to ten years,” said Marinak. “During a time of rapid change in how fans consume sports content, Brian is a great addition to the MLB team bringing a track record of success and an ability to collaborate with internal and external business leaders.
