AEW reportedly not looking to sign Tessa Blanchard
Tessa Blanchard is still on the free agent market and one landing spot is not available.
The former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion was stripped of the title earlier this year as she departed from the promotion. At the time of her exit, it was reported that the two sides parted ways after she failed to send promos from her home in Mexico for a June episode of Impact. The promotion decided to terminate her contract.
Blanchard didn’t wrestle from mid-March through September. There had been rumblings about WWE being interested in signing her, but nothing has been signed yet.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that as things stand right now, AEW is not going to be her destination.
Meltzer noted that based on what he was told, when her name came up, those in AEW wouldn’t deny her talent, which from that standpoint would be very valuable. However, “the decision was made to not pursue her.”
Blanchard still has promotions she can go to such as WWE, but it won’t be AEW.
