WWE SmackDown averaged over 3 million viewers for Christmas night edition in overnight ratings
The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode from St. Petersburg, Florida at Tropicana Field.
The episode drew an average of 3.336 million viewers, which is up from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 1.030 million viewers on FOX Sports 1.
The first hour saw it pull in 4.097 million viewers while hour two did 2.574 million viewers. The show did 2.053 million viewers in hour one while hour two did 2.004 million viewers two weeks ago. It also pulled in an average of 0.95 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which was #2 for the night. That is up the 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic the show did last week.
WWE loaded up this show with three title matches including Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens inside a Steel Cage due to it airing on Christmas night. The reason for such a spike in the first hour was due to it airing right after the NFL game between Saints and Vikings on FOX. Thus, this will likely end up as the highest viewed episode of the blue branded show of 2020.
SmackDown was in the middle of the pack for the night among the networks in viewership. It was behind 20/20, Magnum P.I., Blue Bloods, Shark Tank, Dateline NBC, and other series among the top shows on network television.
It should be noted that this is the overnight number and the actual rating won’t be released until next week.
