WWE files for NXT New Year’s Evil trademark

WWE has already announced its next special episode of NXT TV.

On January 6th from Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center on the USA Network, WWE will host its NXT New Year’s Evil episode.

No matches have been officially announced for this show, but WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor did mention on Wednesday’s episode that he would be defending the title against an unknown opponent.

There was a segment with Kyle O’Reilly, Damian Priest, and Pete Dunne interrupting the champion to make their case for a title shot. Balor said that it wasn’t his job to find a challenger and would leave that decision up to William Regal.

On December 6th, WWE filed a trademark for “NXT New Year’s Evil” with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. Here is the description:

“International Class 041: Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.”
