WWE confirms SmackDown title match is still taking place at TLC PPV

Last week on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, the company held a contract signing for the Carmella vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks match at the TLC pay-per-view event.

Right after signing the contract, WWE decided to book the match in the main event of the same SmackDown episode. The contest ended by DQ with Carmella winning after Banks wouldn’t follow a warning by the referee.

On Thursday, WWE updated its TLC preview article by noting that this match is still taking place at the PPV event as it will be a rematch.

The preview noted, “Will Carmella prove untouchable against the irate Boss? Don’t miss their SmackDown Women’s Title Rematch at WWE TLC.”

WWE holds the TLC pay-per-view event on December 20, 2020 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on the WWE Network.

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. AJ Styles in TLC matches are being billed as the top bouts on the card. WWE just added a first-ever stipulation to one match on the card as well.
