WWE and NJPW reportedly are in talks on possible working relationship
As per F4WOnline, WWE President Nick Khan has been having discussions with New Japan Pro Wrestling about having the WWE becoming the exclusive American partner for NJPW.
It is being said that the deal, if came to fruition, top WWE talent would be sent to work in NJPW.
According to PWInsider, there are sources indicating discussions between WWE and NJPW communication have been going on for several months, and that the main decisive issue is Daniel Bryan being able to work some dates for NJPW.
Both reports indicated there have been discussing for several months, with F4WOnline saying that talks between WWE and NJPW started back in March or April of this year.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, NJPW worked with Ring of Honor as their sole American partner. However, during the pandemic, NJPW formed working relationships with AEW and IMPACT Wrestling. NJPW star Yuji Nagata appeared back on the May 12 episode of AEW Dynamite, as he challenged Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Title, in which Moxley retained. During last night’s IMPACT, NJPW star Kojima made an appearance, and it set to take on Joe Doering at the company’s Against All Odds event on Saturday, June 12.
As of this report, it was noted by both F4WOnline and PWInsider, there is no indication at this time where the initial talks are at between WWE and NJPW. However, PWInsider also noted that there really has been nothing to the story at this time.
