Vince McMahon denies accusations and requests arbitration in lawsuit; Grant’s lawyers respond

When it comes to the Janel Grant lawsuit, Vince McMahon and his legal team filed a motion to compel arbitration on April 23, 2024. In the filing, McMahon refuted Grant’s allegations of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking.
Moreover, McMahon made the following assertions in the filing:
“At the time they met in 2019, Plaintiff was not coping with profound grief from her parents’ deaths and facing financial struggles as stated in her Complaint, and she had not spent years providing around-the-clock care for her parents. These statements are completely false. According to the records from a foreclosure action against Plaintiff and her parents, Plaintiff’s father passed away on April 18, 2017—two years before Plaintiff met Defendant—and his marital status was listed as ‘widowed,’ confirming that Plaintiff’s mother had passed away earlier. Court documents also show that contrary to her claim of providing round-the-clock care, Plaintiff’s father resided in a senior care facility in Stamford, Connecticut before his passing—not with her—and a neighbor of the Grants would bring meals to Plaintiff’s mother and assist around the house before her passing. In reality, contrary to the narrative of constant devotion in the Complaint, the foreclosure action on her parents’ home indicates that Plaintiff wanted no involvement in ‘any of this’ and failed to respond to requests related to the foreclosure. In fact, Plaintiff was so absent in her parents’ lives that it required significant time and effort for the creditor in the foreclosure action to locate her and identify her as her parents’ next-of-kin.”
Following McMahon’s filing, Janel Grant’s attorneys released a statement to POSTWrestling.com and WrestleNomics.com in response to McMahon’s claims.
“Vince McMahon has a knack for twisting any storyline to suit his own agenda. Janel’s father was under in-home hospice care during his final days, and she continued to provide round-the-clock care for him. Before his passing, she had been caring for her blind, wheelchair-bound mother. Exploiting the grief of someone who lost both parents is truly despicable. She was not seeing anyone at the time. Her ex-boyfriend allowed her to stay in the apartment as she rebuilt her life and career after caring for her parents. She had no job or financial support to fall back on.”
