Update on Trey Miguel, why he has not signed with WWE or AEW

Last week, when it was announced that WWE had signed Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz from The Rascalz group, many fans were left wondering why Trey Miguel was not announced as part of the latest signings.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Miguel was considering bout WWE and AEW. Last night during the post-NXT TakeOver media call, Triple H did not give an answer on Miguel and chose to not comment since he is not with the company.

Miguel issued a statement today about his nephew, who was born prematurely and said that being with him is his priority right now. That is the most likely explanation for why Miguel has not signed with WWE or AEW at this time.

Here is the full statement:

“I feel like it is worth mentioning AGAIN that a month and a half ago my Nephew was born prematurely and is in isolated care until what would have been his actual due date. Meeting a healthy baby boy is more important to me than anything else. I’m sure you all can respect that.”

We wish him and his nephew well.
