Tony Khan Talks AEW GM Game And More AEW Game Details
Last week, All Elite Wrestling announced a special November 10th announcement regarding “AEW Games.”
We have reported multiple times how AEW has been working on a game for consoles such as Xbox and Playstation. Kenny Omega and Aubrey Edwards are leading the way and have mentioned in interviews that development has been underway.
We have reported that All Elite Wrestling trademarked the terms “All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager” and “Elite GM” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) back in September. “AEW Games.” was recently trademarked in October.
Tony Khan, during the post-AEW Full Gear media scrum, was asked for more details about the upcoming video game.
He didn’t want to say too much, but AEW is working on multiple games instead of just one. They want to cater to different platforms and fan interests. Could a mobile game be also in the works?
“I think we’ll put a title out, a console game that’s best in class for a console game. We’re really excited about it.”
Khan noted that they have some big surprises to come in 2020, including more details on the GM game.
“That can impact our video game plans, and I think also, we’re going to put something out for those people, like myself, that love putting wrestling cards up together and allow them to do the job I do, which is the general manager of AEW. That’ll be fun. There’s going to be a few different titles, and then I don’t think we’re going to stop anywhere either.
I think we’re going to expand here at AEW Games because it’s a great chance to introduce gaming fans to AEW and introduce AEW to gaming fans, expand and build a business. There’s a lot to come from there for sure.”
