Tom Phillips responds to fan lashing out at him for the way he pronounces name of WWE star

Tom Phillips had to deal with an unhappy fan on Twitter who decided to direct message him about the way that he pronounces the name of Mustafa Ali.

Most people would think there are more important things to get angry about, but this fan wanted his viewpoint to be seen.

The fan decided he knew the proper way to pronounce Mustafa and to let Philips know the way to say it. To the credit of the WWE announcer, he actually responded to the fan in a civil way. In fact, he explained Ali recently mentioned how he wants the name to be said during an episode of Monday Night Raw.

Philips wrote the following response:

“Hi (person not named) I understand your issue regarding the pronunciation. However, Mustafa has recently stated on RAW the correct way that his first name is pronounced. I am simply respecting that wish, as I would for anyone asking for their name to be pronounced the way they would like. I will continue to do so. Thank you for being a fan of WWE. “
