Sonya Deville’s abductor has been found incompetent to stand trial
According to multiple sources, and later confirmed by F4WOnline, Phillip A. Thomas, the man accused of stalking and attempting to abduct Daria Berenato (WWE Superstar Sonya Deville) was found not competent to stand trial.
Following medical evaluations by doctors at a competency hearing, Thomas was found not mentally competent to stand trial. Thomas will be transferred to Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida.
Thomas was charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief after breaking into Berenato’s home on August 16, 2020. Berenato and Amanda Saccomanno (WWE Superstar Mandy Rose) was able escape safely.
Depositions for the trial started this past February, with the next hearing set for October 7, 2021. Berenato recently had her protection injunction against Thomas extended.
After Bernato lost a loser leaves WWE match at SummerSlam 2020 against Mandy Rose, she took time off from WWE. She made a surprise return to WWE on the January1, 2020 episode of SmackDown in a non-wrestling capacity, serving as an assistant to WWE official Adam Pearce.
