Potential spoiler on future WWE storyline plans for Aalyah Mysterio and Murphy

There is an interesting note in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter on the angle that involved Aalyayh, Dominik and Rey Mysterio, Murphy and Seth Rollins.

The way things are being portrayed on TV is to give the impression that Seth Rollins may be manipulating everything.

On last week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, it was confirmed that Murphy and Aalyah are a couple and Rollins offered to marry them. This week, it looked like Murphy was helping Rollins but in a backstage segment, Murphy asked Aalyah to trust him and it was implied that he was actually manipulating Rollins. The backstory to all of this is that Dominik and Rey do not trust the Murphy and Rollins side.

Meltzer noted the similarities to an angle that took place in WWC where Konnan was the top heel and the idea was that he was going to marry Stacy Colon, the sister of Eddie (ex-WWE star Primo) and Carly (ex-WWE star Carlito) and daughter of Carlos Colon.

Konnan asked to marry her and the family eventually accepted him and then he turned on her and revealed that he was manipulating the situation from the start.

Meltzer noted that this may not be the way things turn out for the storyline on SmackDown but he noted that Rey has a lot of input with this angle. It would not be a stretch to think that Rey may have gotten some ideas from his close friend Konnan.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Vince McMahon loves wedding segments and has done many of them over the last 35 years. A wedding with Aalyah and Murphy is guaranteed to pull in above average numbers for a future episode of SmackDown.
