During this time, he participated in 21 independent wrestling shows, facing off against opponents like actor Paul Walter Hauser at the WrestleCon SuperShow and appearing in multiple matches for MLW.

This new deal that allows Callihan to work for both TNA and MLW simultaneously mirrors the arrangement he had with MLW and then-IMPACT Wrestling between 2017 and 2019. Following his departure from TNA last year, Callihan briefly worked exclusively with IMPACT Wrestling before returning to the independent circuit.
