Impact Wrestling breaks Twitch viewership record with Kenny Omega appearance

As expected, Tuesday’s episode of Impact Wrestling was a success in viewership as it featured appearances by AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and AEW President Tony Khan.

Omega’s appearance helped the company hit its best-ever viewership on its Twitch stream.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics noted on Twitter that the segment that featured Omega and his new manager Don Callis where they were interviewed by Josh Matthews peaked at over 52,000 viewers. This was three times higher than any segment that the show has done since airing on Twitch as the previous record was 17,000.

The chart shows the episode doubled from approximately 17,000 to 34,000 within the first four minutes before rising throughout the show. When Omega first appeared, it was at 50,934 viewers at 9:48 PM ET and peaked at 52,492 viewers.

Impact’s TV ratings on AXS usually don’t chart on the top 150 shows on cable for the night. However, last week the show did 166,000 viewers and a 0.05 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

It’s possible the show will chart again this week. During this segment, Omega said that he has something big planned for AEW Dynamite.
