Eddie Kingston was recently asked about CM Punk during his interview with Adrian Hernandez. The Mad King shared his thoughts on the Second City Saint’s controversial comments from the MMA Hour. Kingston admitted that he didn’t really care about what Punk had to say about AEW, as Punk no longer works there. He simply shrugged it off as “Phil being Phil.”

In his own words, Kingston mentioned, “He doesn’t work for us. I don’t give a [expletive]. Honestly. He doesn’t work for AEW, so I don’t care. I’m not even mad. If it sounds like I’m mad, it’s just the way I talk. I don’t care. I know other people do, but I really don’t give a [expletive] because he doesn’t work for AEW. That’s the way I look at it. If he worked for AEW and did that, then I might feel a certain way, but then I would just let it go and say, ‘that’s Phil being Phil. Can’t control him. That’s his thing.’ He ain’t me and I ain’t him. I don’t care what he does.”

For those who may have missed it, Punk recently reflected on his time in AEW, acknowledging that he had more positive memories than negative ones. However, he did criticize Tony Khan for “not running a real business” and addressed his issues with Jack Perry. More details on Punk’s statements can be found here.

Overall, Kingston’s nonchalant attitude towards Punk’s comments reflects his focus on the present rather than dwelling on past controversies. It’s clear that he values his own experiences and perspectives above getting caught up in others’ opinions. As the wrestling world continues to evolve, each individual’s journey and choices ultimately shape their own narrative.
