Duncan Middle School Wrestling opens new season with huge numbers | News

Duncan Middle School started their 2020-2021 season at MacArthur and had 25 top finishers among a group that has seen the highest turnout in a long time for the Duncan Middle School wrestling program.

Justin Pena is taking over as new coach and he now leads 45 athletes. He had three first place finishers in their respective weight classes.

Wrestlers Bryson Burden, Jake Ensey and Emillio Harris finished as champions while the Demons’ middle school wrestling program had 13 runner ups, the most of any of the top four finishes.

The runners up in their divisions were: Bryson Tidwel, Carter Riddles, Carson Lance, Cayson Tidwel, Cherly Heath, Eric Reza, Graclyn Day, Joclyn Vargas, Keaden Macinnes, Keiston Rosado, Korben Torrez, Izaya Elyex and Spencer Carter.

There were five third place finishers as Avery Poocher, Billy McClinton, Diesal Mason, Jaxon Simpson and Kasen Benson took their medals home back to Duncan.

The final four top finishers got fourth place medals in their divisions as Aiden Dupre, Deacon Clark, Landen Brown and Triston Carrasco finished as the final top medal winners in the tournament.

The next meet will take place at 9 a.m. Nov. 21 as the Demons Middle School Wrestling team heads to the Hinton Open for their second open of the 2020-2021 season.
