Asuka set a new record at WWE TLC

Asuka walked into Sunday’s WWE TLC with a mystery partner for her match against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Lana was originally supposed to team with Asuka at this show, but WWE decided to do an injury angle on last week’s episode of Raw to take her out of the contest.

As expected, Charlotte Flair made her return to be Asuka’s tag team partner. They dethroned Jax and Baszler to become the new champions. The former WWE Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Champion had been on hiatus for several months.

According to WWE Stats and Info on Twitter, Asuka became the first female to win a tag team title with two different partners since Velvet McIntyre in 1984.
