As first reported by Fightful and later confirmed by F4WOnline, after being released last November, it is being said that Zelina Vega and WWE are working toward her return.
Fightful first reported Vega (Thea Trinidad-Budgen) was at the WWE Performance Center on Thursday filming for something and that “the working plan is for her to return to the company.”
Vega’s release came from issues with WWE’s policies about individual deals with third party entities such as Twitch, where Vega has a popular channel which generates revenue. Her release gained interest from SAG-AFTRA after she posted tweets on regarding unionization in professional wrestling. However, nothing further came about.
Back in March, reports came out that Trinidad had signed an undisclosed short-term deal that wouldn’t allow her to work for another wrestling company. Prior to AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view, Tony Khan had said he was interested in talking with Vega and possibility signing her to an AEW contract.
