WWE SmackDown kicks off with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks arguing backstage. Bianca asks her what she’s thinking about taking on Nia Jax tonight. They argue and Bianca tell her that this was a bad decision and she will not go out there to save her.
WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match – Sasha Banks (c) vs. Nia Jax with Shayna Baszler
They state that Reginald is at a spa getting ready for Nia’s Championship celebration tonight.
The bell rings and we are under way. Sasha with a baseball slide takes out Baszler. She gets on the top rope and drives Nia into the second turnbuckle. Sasha stomps on Nia in the corner. Sasha with the double knees onto Nia followed by a bulldog. Sasha goes for the Banks Statement but Nia gets out of it. Sasha runs to the ropes but a back elbow by Nia takes Sasha down.
Nia lifts Sasha up and a gorilla press slam. She goes for the cover but Sasha kicks out. Nia with a bodyslam. She runs to the ropes and an elbow drop. She goes for the cover but again Sasha kicks out. Nia sends Sasha to the ropes and she slams into Sasha. She lifts Sasha up and a Samoan drop. She goes for the cover but Sasha kicks out. Bianca’s music hits and out she comes.
Sasha rolls to the outside as Bianca checks up on her.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Nia with a sidewalk slam. She goes for the cover but Banks kicks out. Nia throws Sasha face first into the turrnbuckle. She goes for the cover but Sasha kick out again. Nia picks Sasha up but Sasha goes for a sunset flip, Nia goes to sit down on Sasha but Sasha moves out of the way. Sasha with the double knees from behind. She goes for the cover but Nia kicks out. Nia throws Sasha to the outside of the ring. Sasha gets back in the ring as she kicks Nia on the head. Sasha climbs on Nia’s shoulders and she geos for the Banks Statement, Nia tries to reverse it and a DDT by Sasha. The Banks Statement by Sasha. Shayna and Bianca fight into the ring and with the referee distracted, Shayna goes to kick Sasha but Sasha moves and she accidentally kicks Nia. Sasha goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still WWE SmackDown Champion, Sasha Banks
We see a clip of last week’s show involving Edge, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso and Daniel Bryan.
Kayla Braxton is backstage with Edge. She asks him how it feels to be back on SmackDown in a decade. He says this show has always felt like home to him, some of the greatest moments of his career happened here. He defeated The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship on SmackDown. He says it feels surreal but it feels right. He says Bryan deserves a fair chance at FastLane and if Edge is not out there, Bryan probably won’t.
And as for tonight, Edge says Jey can be one of the greatest talents in this industry but not when he’s in Roman’s shadow. And as long as he is in Roman’s shadow, he will get into trouble and tonight, he is trouble.

Bianca tells Sasha Banks that she won’t go out there and save her. Not even 5 minutes later, Bianca Belair walks out to the ring to check up on Sasha. I mean that’s just poor writing. #SmackDown

One kick followed by a cover like 5 seconds later is enough to get the win against Nia Jax. That was a dominant performance by Nia but she looked bad in the end. Still no reason why Bianca was out there. #SmackDown

-Commercial Break-
We see a clip of Edge winning the Tag Team Championships with Hulk Hogan from SmackDown 19 years ago.
Shayna and Nia are backstage and Nia is angry at her. Shayna apologizes and Nia tells her she wants to know what she will do about it. Shayna says she will go get a match vs. Bianca and she will kick her head off.
Seth Rollins is in the ring. He says he recently made his return to SmackDown and when he did, the entire locker room surrounded the ring to greet him like a king. He says they came out because they respect him. And when they all turned their backs and walked out on him, he respected their decision to be idiots. But one person took the disrespect too far and that was Cesaro. And he finally figured out why and that is because Cesaro is jealous of him.
Rollins says Cesaro is jealous of him because he is loved everywhere he goes and that he is a WrestleMania main eventer while he is a failure. Seth says he is a fighter, not a failure. You knock him down and he stands right back up. And Cesaro is not the same.
We see a clip from last week where Seth attacked Cesaro during his match vs. Murphy.
Seth tells Cesaro that he swung him around 22 times and Cesaro will never disrespect him or embarrass him like that ever again. Seth calls Cesaro the biggest waste of potential.
Out comes Shinsuke Nakamura.
Seth tells Nakamura talk about disrespect. Seth tells him to stay away as Nakamura gets in the ring. Nakamura grabs the microphone from Seth and tells him to shut up. Seth tries to attack Nakamura but Nakamura with a spinning kick. Seth rolls out of the ring. Seth gets back into the ring as Nakamura hits him with the Kinshasa.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves mention how Eric Bischoff is getting inducted into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame.
The first half of that Rollins promo was a repeat of every single promo since his come back. Not sure what they’ll do with Nakamura here as FastLane is on Sunday and WrestleMania in 3 weeks. #SmackDown
