WWE has discussed a different opponent for Edge at WrestleMania 37

For several months it’s been reported that WWE plans to have Edge wrestle Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37.

Over time, there has been talk about whether or not the WWE Title will be on the line for this contest. The belief is that the reason for Orton winning the title from Drew McIntyre was so he could defend it against Edge at this show.

Although the plan is still for Edge to wrestle Orton at the biggest show of the year for the company, WrestleVotes reported today that WWE officials have talked about going in a different direction. Instead of facing Orton, there have been discussions about Edge wrestling The Fiend Bray Wyatt instead.

This is just talk at this point, but it’ll be interesting to see whether WWE changes its plan for this new option.

“WrestleMania update: Source states that while Edge vs Randy Orton has been the long standing plan, and still is at the moment, the idea of Edge vs The Fiend has been discussed a great deal for the show.”

Speaking of WrestleMania, WrestleVotes reported last week that WWE has talked about moving the date of the show.
