Top executive gone from WWE, more firings coming?
WWE decided to let go of John Brody, who held the position of Executive Vice President, Global Head of Sales and Partnerships and Head of International, from the company this week.
Pwinsider.com reports that they’ve heard he was let go on either Wednesday or Thursday. Back in August, WWE shifted its Global Sales and Partnerships division to where Body was reporting to Stephanie McMahon as she was put in charge.
Brody had been working for the company for close to six years. He also had worked as an advisor to WWE prior to joining the company full-time.
His resume noted that he was a “key member of the company’s Executive Committee responsible for providing strategic vision for WWE’s global Sales operations while also growing and expanding the company’s global media partnerships” and through his word, “WWE’s global sales revenue increased 110% from 2015 to 2020 driven by multi-platform partnerships with blue-chip brands including Procter & Gamble, Cricket Wireless, Coca-Cola, Mars, Hyundai and Unilever.”
What’s more interesting is the report states there were additional executive terminations this week. However, the media outlet is still working to confirm those departures, so keep an eye out for that.
Brody’s departure comes after a significant portion of his team had been furloughed earlier this year and many were later let go.
