The Undertaker On Wrestling Again: “Never Say Never”
He won’t fully rule close the door on wrestling again.
On the final episode of Undertaker: The Last Ride, The Undertaker announced his retirement from wrestling.
The 55-year-old had contemplated retirement for several years. It had been a hot topic ever since his perfect WrestleMania streak ended at the hands of Brock Lesnar back in 2014.
In The Last Ride, The Undertaker admitted that although he’s retired, he wouldn’t fully rule out a return to the ring if Vince McMahon asked him about it. But the future Hall of Famer emphasized that he doesn’t have the desire to continue, and that “There’s nothing left for me to conquer or accomplish.”
During a recent interview with TheWrap, Undertaker was asked if he’s “officially retired” from in-ring competition. Once again, the Phenom wouldn’t fully close the door on a possible return.
“I’m going with it, but I work for a man by the name of Vince McMahon, whose motto is ‘Never say never. And I’ll kind of leave that there,” Undertaker said. “In my eyes, yeah, I am officially retired.”
Of course, there are several cases of wrestling legends coming back to wrestle again long after their retirements. Trish Stratus and Lita have competed in several matches since retiring from full-time competition.
Ric Flair continued to wrestle in TNA following his retirement and emotional WWE sendoff. And Shawn Michaels spent eight and a half years in retirement before coming back for one more match at Crown Jewel 2018.

Whether or not The Undertaker stays retired is anybody’s guess, but he certainly sounds like somebody who’s at peace in calling it a career.
WWE is running The Undertaker’s “Final Farewell” at next Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, which will mark the 30-year anniversary of his debut with the company. Savio Vega and The Godfather will be there for the celebration.
Don’t Expect Undertaker To Wrestle Again
In The Last Ride, Undertaker emphasized his desire to go out on a high note. He was awfully disappointed with some of his final matches, but the Deadman was more than happy with the WrestleMania 36 bout against AJ Styles. It’ll be hard for Undertaker to top that match, and if the desire isn’t there to wrestle again, it’s safe to believe that he’ll stay retired.
