Steve Austin gives high praise to Pat McAfee for his WWE NXT work
Steve Austin made an appearance on ESPN’s Monday Tailgate with Jason Fitz and Dan Graziano to talk about a wide range of topics.
During the interview, he gave high praise to Pat McAfee for the work that he’s done in WWE NXT. The former NFL punter has worked just two matches thus far this year.
The first bout took place earlier this year at an NXT TakeOver special in a singles match against Adam Cole and most recently the men’s WarGames match.
“Hey man, he puts it all on the line, he’s going for it. I think his verbal skills, he’s slaying everybody, but he’s not afraid to go out there and put it all on the line. You wouldn’t expect it from a guy who goes out there and kicks a football, but Pat McAfee is bada**. I think he’s doing a really good job. I’d give him a solid A.”
McAfee hasn’t been seen on NXT TV since WarGames, but he has teased that his feud with Cole isn’t over just yet.
Austin’s USA Network Show, Straight Up Steve Austin, is slated to return for its second season in January. The premiere date was confirmed as well as the trailer was released on Monday.
The WWE Hall of Famer also talked about Rob Gronkowski and George Kittle. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below (quotes can be found around the 2:20 mark):
