The releases continue to pour in from WWE.
Samoa Joe has been released by WWE. Peyton Royce and Bo Dallas have also been released.
Samoa Joe recently served on the Raw commentary team, even appearing at WrestleMania 37 over the past weekend. A shakeup of the Raw commentary team saw Tom Phillips be shifted to 205 Live to be replaced with Adnan Virk as the lead play-by-play announcer. Samoa Joe was replaced by Corey Graves on the team.
As an in-ring performer, Samoa Joe signed with WWE in 2015. Joe would hold the NXT Championship, win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and was a two-time WWE United States Champion. Joe last performed in the ring in early 2020 before being sidelined with a serious concussion. He had served on the Raw commentary team from that time after replacing Jerry “The King” Lawler.
Bo Dallas is the brother of “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and the son of Mike Rotunda. Dallas last appeared for WWE in 2019 at WWE Crown Jewel along with Curtis Axel. Dallas has not been used on television since that time nearly a year and a half ago.
Peyton Royce came to WWE teaming with real life best friend Billie Kay as part of the IIconics. They won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. After being split in the 2020 WWE Draft, Royce embarked on a short lived singles run. She last teamed with Lacey Evans before Evans announced her pregnancy. Royce fought Asuka in March 2021 on WWE Raw and has not been seen since.
