Roman Reigns dream match at WWE WrestleMania may not be happening

On Thursday, WrestleVotes reported on a big match that was penciled in for WrestleMania 37. WV reported that Reigns vs. Goldberg appeared to be the plan for the show but apparently this is news to people in WWE.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is no name in the books to be Reigns’ opponent at Mania 37. Meltzer cited a source in the company saying that this is mind-boggling since WWE usually has most of the Mania card, or at least the top matches, figured out by December but that is not the case this year. A WWE source told us this week that there are no plans for Reigns to lose the WWE Universal Title before Mania and he could hold onto the title late into 2021.

One possible match is Drew McIntyre vs. Reigns since McIntyre cut a promo saying that he will meet Reigns again at some point.

On Thursday we first reported that The Rock would not be wrestling at Mania 37 and he’s more likely for Mania 38 in 2022. Meltzer reported today that Rock has brought up the possibility of wrestling in 2022 but that’s a long time from now, he would be 49 years old and things can change. WWE creative has been told that he is a no go for Mania 37.
