Matt Riddle has once again proven himself to be a champion. The King of Bros emerged victorious in his match against Hiroshi Tanahashi at the recent New Beginning in Sapporo event, marking his return to NJPW after leaving WWE. Following his win, Riddle took the time to reflect on the significance of his victory for his career.

The King of Bros has finally made his way to Japan to showcase his talents in the prestigious New Japan promotion. Not only did I have the opportunity to face off against the president of the company, Tanahashi, but I also managed to defeat him and claim the Television Championship. It seems like I have been on a winning streak lately, and I am eager to defend this title at the earliest opportunity. I feel confident and victorious. I am ready to take on any challenge that comes my way. I have a particular opponent in mind for my next title defense – Zack Sabre Jr. The last time we faced each other in New Japan, you had some choice words for me, calling me the king of dickheads. Well, Zack, the tables have turned. I am ready to show you who the real king is. I have no respect for you, your background, or your demeanor. I am ready to teach you a lesson in the ring, bro. So, Zack, stop hiding and face me like a real competitor. The King of Bros is waiting for you.

Riddle was not the only former WWE wrestler to achieve success in NJPW during this event. Nic Nemeth, better known as Dolph Ziggler, also made headlines by defeating David Ferriy and claiming the IWGP Global Championship. Watch their post-match promos below.
