Matt Jackson Says He Has Been Cleared To Fight At Full Gear
It was previously reported by Bryan Alvarez on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks has a partially torn MCL and a thinning of the ACL, which is also considered a slight tear. Alvarez also noted that Jackson has a legitimate injury that he has been rehabbing and the future of their match at AEW Full Gear might be up in the air.
Matt Jackson’s injury happened on the July 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite during the Falls Count Anywhere Match between The Young Bucks & The Butcher and The Blade.
Matt got injured towards the end of the match when The Young Bucks hit flying elbow drops from the top of the stage onto their opponents down below, who were laying on top of tables. It was then noted that the table leg jammed up Matt Jackson’s knee.
An update was recently provided by Matt Jackson himself on his Twitter account that he has been medically cleared by his doctor to participate at Full Gear.
The stipulations of their match against FTR at Full Gear states that if The Young Bucks lose their match, then they will no longer be able to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Titles ever again.
You can check out Matt Jackson’s tweet below:
I appreciate everyone’s concern about my injury. However, I have indeed been medically cleared by my doctor to participate in Saturday’s match against The Bore Horsemen at Full Gear, live on PPV. Thank you for the support.
