Latest on Aleister Black’s request to go back to WWE NXT
It was reported last week that Aleister Black had asked to be sent back to NXT to work under Triple H. This news came after it was announced that WWE had released his wife, Zelina Vega.
The report came from WrestleVotes, which stated, “There’s a bit more behind the scenes to the Zelina Vega release. Frustration from both sides is an understatement. While it can’t be directly tied to today’s news, Aleister Black recently requested to move back to NXT and was denied. Dissension amongst the parties involved.”
It turns out that Black didn’t necessarily ask WWE officials to be sent back to NXT.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Black had floated the idea to WWE officials.
Meltzer wrote, “That’s basically true as far as smoke and fire but not exactly true. We were told he didn’t directly ask and get turned down, but he did float the idea around and nobody seemed interested when he did so.”
Black doesn’t have a match booked for Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event. There’s also no word yet on what creative has in place for Black on television.
