Sami Callihan made a surprising return at the TNA Rebellion 2024 pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend. Along with other returning wrestlers like Matt Hardy, Mike Santana, and PCO, Callihan’s comeback has left many wondering about his contract status moving forward.

Recent reports from PWInsider.com suggest that despite his return to TNA Wrestling, Callihan is still under contract with Major League Wrestling (MLW). It appears that “The Death Machine” will continue to work for both TNA and MLW in the coming months.

Callihan’s return took place during the TNA Knockouts Championship match between Jordynne Grace and Steph De Lander. He intervened to help Grace by taking out Kon and The Good Hands before allowing Grace to secure a successful title defense by defeating De Lander in the ring.

After ending his previous contract with TNA in September 2023, the 36-year-old Callihan spent several months as a free agent. During this time, he participated in 21 independent wrestling shows, facing off against opponents like actor Paul Walter Hauser at the WrestleCon SuperShow and appearing in multiple matches for MLW.

This new deal that allows Callihan to work for both TNA and MLW simultaneously mirrors the arrangement he had with MLW and then-IMPACT Wrestling between 2017 and 2019. Following his departure from TNA last year, Callihan briefly worked exclusively with IMPACT Wrestling before returning to the independent circuit.

Overall, it seems that Sami Callihan’s return to TNA has created quite a buzz in the wrestling world. Fans can look forward to seeing more of him in action across different promotions as he continues to make his mark in the industry.
