Finn Balor suffered a minor injury before he broke his jaw

It turns out that not only did Finn Balor break his jaw in his most recent match, but heading into that contest was dealing with another injury.

It’s been well documented that the WWE NXT Champion broke his jaw in two places when he retained the title against Kyle O’Reilly in the main event of NXT TakeOver 31 back in October.

Balor actually suffered from a blown-out eardrum about a month before this title match. In September, Balor worked a 60 Minute Iron Man Fatal Four Way Match and on the same night, a No Time Limit Match during two different episodes of NXT TV that was taped back-to-back.

While doing an interview with FOX Sports, Triple H shared the news.

“Look at where NXT is right now and when you take in the last few months, man, there was a moment there where we were snake-bitten by a bunch of things, to Keith Lee transition[ing] and Karrion [Kross] gets the title but he gets injured and at the same time you gotta take the title off him, Finn [Balor] gets the title.

I don’t even think anybody knows this but Finn gets the title and in that match, blows his eardrum out and as he comes out of that like, ‘Okay, he’s good on that.’ Right on the flip side of that, breaks his jaw. Then it goes from, again when you get into the specialists, different opinions and it’s just hard to predict some of these things.”

Triple H also talked about NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Pat Patterson, and more. Check out the full interview here.
