Details on how ROH will announce changes to Final Battle card, COVID-19 testing protocols
On Friday, Ring of Honor announced that Bandido, EC3, Flamita, and Kenny King have been pulled from the Final Battle PPV due to pre-travel COVID-19 testing. Because of this, changes will have to be made to the card.
PWinsider.com reports the promotion will not disclose the planned changes to the card until the night of the broadcast. Per the report, the plan is to tell fans of the updated card during the free broadcast of the first hour of the PPV that airs on ROH’s streaming service and social media platforms.
That free hour will air from 8 PM EST – 9 PM EST. Fans who buy the PPV will see the first hour as well.
Regarding the COVID-19 testing protocols, all talent are required to self-test (under the supervision of a nurse via Zoom) for COVID-19 and submit those samples to a lab.
When they pass those tests then they can travel to the ROH hotel and be sent to their room in order to undergo a series of additional tests. They get tested over the course of their time at the hotel while working TV tapings.
It was noted that the procedures are the strictest in pro wrestling because the promotion has to go through the Maryland State Athletic Commission.
