Chris Jericho is set to showcase his acting skills once again in an upcoming horror film called ‘Dark Match’. The current FTW Champion of AEW will be starring in the film, which is scheduled to be released later this year, with details about its festival premiere to be announced soon.

The sales and distribution for ‘Dark Match’ will be handled by the United Kingdom-based outfit ‘Blue Finch’, who will kick off sales at the upcoming “The Marché du Film” Cannes Film Market. According to a report by Variety, the film, written and directed by Lowell Dean, follows the story of a small wrestling company taking on a well-paying gig in a mysterious backwoods town controlled by a cult leader with sinister plans for their match. As the lights go down, Miss Behave and her friends find themselves in a real fight for their lives. The cast also includes Steven Ogg from ‘The Walking Dead’ and Ayisha Issa from ‘Transplant’.

In a recent interview, Lowell Dean shared insights into the process of writing ‘Dark Match’. He mentioned, “When I wrote ‘Dark Match’ I questioned if it was too crazy to get made, but within months I was on set in Edmonton, with a hard working cast and crew all pouring their (fake) blood and sweat in the wrestling ring to bring it to life. I can’t wait to share this film with the world.”
