As Samantha Irvin sat in front of her TV on Sunday night, she couldn’t help but feel emotional, just like many of us.
She had just finished announcing every match at WrestleMania XL, held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA over the weekend, and the feedback from fans about her final announcement on night two was overwhelming positive.
With tears in her eyes, she watched as Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to become the new WWE Universal Champion on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.” And in that emotional moment, Samantha Irvin proudly announced “The American Nightmare” as the new champion.
Michael Buffer, a well-known ring announcer, praised her performance on Twitter, calling her final announcement “awesome” and highlighting her brilliant timing, pace, drama, and energy.
Even WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque couldn’t help but sing her praises, declaring that Samantha Irvin is a star and comparing her to the legendary Michael Buffer.
Footage of Samantha Irvin’s emotional call of Cody Rhodes’ victory at WrestleMania XL was shared by WWE on FOX’s Twitter account, and even Cody Rhodes himself acknowledged her emotional moment on Monday night’s Raw After WrestleMania XL show.
