Billy Corgan is sharing his thoughts on Nick Aldis making his way to WWE.
Having pushed Aldis as his top talent for years as the NWA President, Corgan also launched the Powerrr series with Aldis as the NWA world champion. However, the National Treasure parted ways with the NWA earlier this year and openly expressed his dissatisfaction with how things ended, even claiming that the NWA still owed him money. Despite this, Aldis has now found a new home in WWE where he serves as a producer and the on-screen General Manager for SmackDown.
During a recent interview on Drew Garbo Live, Corgan discussed Aldis’ departure from the NWA. He mentioned that Aldis left under circumstances that made it difficult for Corgan to fully support him, but he is pleased to see him reach a higher level in his career.
“In that particular case, he left under kind of a cloud, so it’s hard for me to feel as happy as I would like to because, with any situation where you part ways with somebody who is not completely happy, and then goes out and talks about not being happy, it’s hard to kind of root for them. That said, very talented guy, and I’m not surprised he’s landed at a higher level and I can only wish him the best.”
Aldis has been making significant contributions to SmackDown, frequently booking major matches on a weekly basis. His most recent announcement was made on X (Twitter), which fans can check out for more information.
