Big title match announced for next week’s WWE NXT
WWE has announced a big title match for next week’s episode of NXT on the USA Network. Io Shirai will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley. There was a Prime Target video shown this week to hype their title match.
It was also announced that NXT Champion Finn Balor will speak on next week’s show. Balor has been out of action since he injured his jaw at TakeOver: 31 during his title defense against Kyle O’Reilly.
Nothing has been announced regarding the fate of the NXT Championship because WWE has been waiting to see the progress of Balor’s recovery. He will provide an update to the fans next week.
Typically, a broken jaw can take about 6 weeks to heal but in Balor’s case, his jaw was broken in two places so it’s possible that he will need more time off or he could announce next week that he has been cleared.
