AEW’s Riho has finished up with Stardom
Since last year, Riho has been working for both AEW and Stardom. However, it appears that she will be mainly working for All Elite Wrestling going forward.
Riho reportedly finished up with the Japanese-based women’s promotion on Saturday, according to Dave Meltzer. The news was shared in Sunday’s Daily Update on F4Wonline.com.
Per the report, Stardom wanted its talent to be exclusive to them, which is an issue with Riho as she is still under contract with AEW.
Riho beat Nyla Rose to become the AEW Women’s Champion on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite in Washington, D.C., at the famed Capital One Arena on TNT in October 2019.
She had a lengthy title reign before dropping the title. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Riho hasn’t worked a match in AEW since March 18th when she competed a fatal 4-way match along with Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Penelope Ford.
Since that time, she has mostly worked for Stardom. She lost her last two matches in the promotion including back-to-back tag team bouts.
